In this work, I aim to express the quiet resilience of the eucalypt as it clings to the escarpment, shaped by wind, weather and time. I was drawn to the way the tree reaches for the light and survives despite difficult circumstances. A metaphor for life.

What caught my eye with this scene was the contrast of white seagulls against the deep colours of the background. Painted at Catherine Hill Bay, Australia.
